Cherry Blossom Season

One of Brooklyn’s best kept secrets is its abundance of cherry blossom trees that can be found at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. These beautiful trees light up with light shades of pink in the leaves that create a unique skyline here at the garden. Previous years have held a cherry blossom festival that has since relocated to Washington DC. However, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden continues to showcase these gorgeous trees with the start of the Cherry Blossom Season. This start typically happens in the month of April when the colors finally make their appearance. The first blossoms will appear in early April and typically only bloom for a week or two. This limited appearance makes seeing the cherry blossoms such a treasured experience. The Brooklyn Botanic Garden continues to post updates on when they expect their cherry blossoms to fully bloom. Macy’s Flower Show
If there is one brand that has quite the showing here in New York City, it is Macy’s. You recognize the brand at your local mall or from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade. Each year Macy’s hosts their Macy’s Flower Show that takes place during the month of April. They will feature curated floral items that will help make planning for Mother’s Day even easier. While visiting a department store may not sound like a lot of fun on paper, you will be thrilled to know this is one of the most looked forward to events of the year. Both locals and visitors flock to the midtown Macy’s store to explore their floral exhibition and exclusive items on display. Their floral field found at the balcony level of their store provides guests with a visual on how their fragrances are created. Window displays are created to provide a magical garden by The Fashion Institute of Technology students. This two-week festival is typically held from late march to early April, providing you with the perfect opportunity to stop by during your visit. Macy’s Herald Square will be the host for this year’s Macy’s Flower Show and is free to attend.
New York International Auto Show
Welcome to the oldest and longest running auto show here in the state of New York, the New York International Auto Show. In fact, this is one of the most popular auto shows in the country and will be once again returning this April. The New York International Auto Show brings the latest automotive trends with two floors of auto displays from automakers found all over the world. This year’s auto show will be the 125th show making it a long standing tradition for locals here in New York City. This is a huge event that will take place over 10 days and provide over 100 different engagement sessions. Over 700 vehicles will be on display in the exhibit space with over one million square feet of space. All styles and brands of cars, including exotic cars, will be on display. Special sessions will provide the chance to see special vehicles including celebrity owned cars, hot rods, exotic vehicles, marine Jeeps, and so much more. Additional experiences include test tracks and more. Single day passes for the New York International Auto Show are now on sale with adult admission starting at $22 and children admission starting at $8. This year’s show will take place from April 18th to the 27th for public admission.
Broadway Shows
One of the best enjoyed experiences here in New York City is catching a show on Broadway. You will find a variety of performances available to see during the month of April.
