Each summer Midtown Manhattan hosts the annual Bryant Park Film Festival for a series of free film screenings. The festival takes place in Bryant Park on Monday evenings starting at 8:00 PM. The experience is always free and runs until August 15th giving you plenty of time to experience it before the end of summer. Take a Ferry to Governors Island
When you visit New York City you will have an endless amount of experiences at your fingertips. One of these is visiting Governors Island that is just a short ferry ride away. The island is a popular destination to check out for its historic buildings, award winning park, and 22-acre National Monument. Governors Island is open to the public Thursday through Sunday and is only accessed through a ferry. Specific places to check out include Hammock Grove and Picnic Point. A 2.1 mile walking trail will take you around the full circumference of the island letting you check everything out. Or grab a bike rental on the island and enjoy a casual ride as you take in the views!
Smorgasburg Food Market
Getting the chance to try the local food is always a must when in New York City. You will find food vendors of all nationalities selling their delicious food. One of the best places to try everything in a single place is over at Smorgasburg Food Market. This market takes place in Williamsburg and Prospect Park both in Brooklyn along with one in Manhattan near the World Trade Center. This is the largest open air food market in all of New York City and runs until 6:00 or 7:00 PM depending on the location you are at. You are sure to walk away with a new favorite meal that you have never tried before!

One of the biggest entertainment areas of New York City can be found over on Coney Island nearby Brooklyn. Specifically, Luna Park offers a huge entertainment park that is great for the whole family.
