A Different Way of Looking at the World

Sedona is known for its unique qualities, including its red rock landscape, its vortexes, and its reputation as a spiritual mecca, and your explorations of its borders will open your eyes to all the possibilities, even as you participate in what some might consider the most mundane of activities, shopping. You will soon see that the streets are lined with shops, galleries, and boutiques, each offering something extra, something that you never knew you needed until it rested in your hand. The shops listed below are just a sample of the wonderful businesses you will discover during your 2025 escape to Arizona.

Salt/Pine, 60 W Cortez Drive

Salt/Pine is one of the newest shops in Sedona, offering a peek into our metaphysicality by offering a beautiful selection of crystals, books, candles, jewelry, and handmade and all-natural body care products. Simple décor lets the products shine and knowledgeable and personal staff will introduce you to this way of thinking and believing, creating a shopping experience as memorable as your Sedona vacation.

Merry Christmas Sedona, 273 N State Route 89A Unit P

Every day is Christmas at Merry Christmas Sedona, a shop selling holiday décor that you really won’t want to live without. Inspired by the desert that surrounds us, this shop offers handmade ornaments that will serve as a reminder of the vacation you never want to forget. Many travelers have started collecting ornaments from all the places they have visited, enjoying the memories they bring to the surface when trimming their trees and this activity could be the start of a new tradition for you and your family.

Zonies Galleria, 215 AZ-89A

Sunset visible from a Sedona, Arizona vacation rental

The art of the Southwest differs from that of other places, offering both more color and often simpler design and the pieces found at Zonies Galleria are a stunning representation of those differences. Offering blown glass chandeliers, copper suns, pottery spun on a wheel and colored in rich classical colors, everywhere you turn there is a new piece that will demand you look at it, touch it, own it and if you can leave the store without that metal lithograph of an Arizona sunset or a stained glass depiction of a roadrunner in motion, you are made of sterner stuff than we are.

The Energy Is Different Here

Whether this is your first time visiting or your 100th adventure in our red rock town, a visit to the Vortexes of Sedona is sure to be at the top of your vacation bucket list. There are seven in the area, more than in any other one location, with the Airport Mesa Vortex being one of the most visited and Rachel’s Knoll Vortex located on what is considered sacred land that was used by the Native Americans for centuries. Rachel’s Knoll Vortex is also located on the property of Seven Canyons Golf Course and if the mood to hit a few balls arises, you can’t find a better place to do so. Cathedral Rock vortex is considered to be the most powerful of the seven vortexes, offering a strong feminine energy that leaves visitors feeling peaceful and emotionally balanced after their visit. Whichever vortex you choose to visit, they are sites of healing, self-discovery, and spiritual connection, changing the way you look at the world forevermore.

Exciting Events

The best way to get to know a place is by participating in the events that take place in each town and Sedona is known throughout the state, even throughout the nation, for offering a series of events that add excitement and wonder to everyone who attends. There is something going on nearly every month of the year, but the ones listed below are some of our absolute favorites.

Sedona International Film Festival & Workshop, Various Venues in Sedona

The Sedona International Film Festival & Workshop is a nine-day event that begins the last week of February, trailing into March. Offering a celebration of independent films from around the world, including documentaries, short films, animation, and foreign films, this festival is every movie lover’s dream. Also offering virtual tickets, if you attend this year and discover how much you love it, you can continue to attend from the comfort of your own home from here on out. Unless, of course, you want to return to Sedona so you can attend in person again, there is a certain wonder to being able to share the magic of movies with other likeminded individuals.

Spring Open Studios, Various Venues, April

Sedona has often been considered an artist’s colony, attracting the most talented ones in the world and at the end of April, Spring Open Studios gives visitors an opportunity to explore their work with a tour of studios. Over 50 artists open their private studios to visitors, and as you meet the artists, examine their work, you will also be entered in a gallery wide raffle for a chance to win a $250 gift certificate to use at any of the participating galleries.

Sedona Winefest, Posse Grounds Park

Arizona has become a top winemaking region, much to the surprise of many visitors, and the Sedona Winefest, a tradition for 15 years, offers the perfect way to explore our Arizona wines. Held the last weekend in September, the event starts with a kickoff party, offering tasting stations, an appetizer station for pairing, commemorative Sedona Winefest glass, raffle tickets, and so much more. The remainder of the event will include more tastings from over 25 wineries and some tastings from distilleries and breweries as well, live entertainment, food and artisan vendors, and more fun than should be legally allowed.

Sedona Food Truck Festival, Posse Grounds Park

Our final event in this lineup of fun, the Sedona Food Truck Festival, is a one-day festival that offers an abundance of deliciousness, held in the early days of November. Featuring a large selection of food trucks all bringing something different and delectable to the event, guests can eat their way around the world and remember to save room for dessert!

Take It Outside

The landscape of Sedona is one of the most beautiful in the world, and our naturally wonderful weather ensures that you will want to spend as much time as possible outside, enjoying all nature has to offer. There are 278 days of sunshine in Sedona, and although there are some warm months in the summer, most days will be absolutely perfect in temperature and vibe. There is a lot you can do outside during your adventures here, including some of the activities listed below.

Horsin’ Around Adventures, 2650 Dancing Apache Road in Cornville

You’re in the Wild West, so it only makes sense that one of your first adventures should take place on the back of a gentle steed, and Horsin’ Around Adventures offers one of our favorite ways to explore the Verde Valley countryside. They are located in nearby Cornville and offer trail rides that lead visitors through a canyon that provides views of vineyards, mountains, and historical spots that will make an impact on your soul. Each ride lasts about 1.5 hours and can be a group one with as many as 15 riders trailing along and private tours that also include a “swing by” of some native wildlife’s natural habitats. Reservations are made by phone only at 800-403-1690.

Sedona Stargazing Tours, 928-203-0006

The International Dark Sky Association (IDA) has made it its mission to bring back the stars, and if you are wondering what that means, we are excited to tell you. Remember when you were a child and could lay on your back in the grass of your backyard, staring up at the stars, and falling asleep before you could count them all? Hoping to see a shooting star and making a wish upon that star was your biggest dream and surprisingly, it happened quite frequently. But light pollution soon took away the magic of a sky filled with stars, and IDA was born, helping communities to bring back the stars. Sedona is a dark sky community, fighting against light pollution and the skies are once again filled with stars, something you will be able to enjoy when you participate in a stargazing tour. Learn about the skies, the stars, the planets, and galaxies that make up the last frontier and if you can share the experience with your favorite traveling companion, all the better.

A Taste of Sedona

Every vacation is remembered by the food we eat, and your Sedona journey will be no different. We are a foodie’s paradise, offering an international selection of restaurants, diners, and cafes, each offering meals you will remember forever. In a good way, we promise!

Rascal Modern American Diner & Bar, 2250 AZ-89A

We’re starting our tour of taste with breakfast, but Rascal Modern American Diner & Bar does serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so if you enjoy your morning meal, please consider returning for the other two meals of the day. Moderately expensive in cost, breakfast is served daily from 7 AM to 1 PM and brunch begins at 11. Both offer delicious favorites such as lemon ricotta pancakes and crab cake benedict. Also serving mimosas and Bloody Marys, their menu changes with the seasons, so come back in the summer and see what wonders await.

Tamaliza, 1155 State Route 89A

Authentic Rolled Tacos in Sedona, Arizona.

Open from 9 AM until 4 PM every day except Monday, Tamaliza is a family owned Mexican restaurant serving breakfast and lunch while offering an authentic taste of our favorite cuisine. If you have never had Mexican food in the Southwest, well, you have never had Mexican food, and you will immediately see the difference when sitting at a table at Tamaliza with their gourmet burritos on the plate in front of you.

Costa by Madrid, 150 AZ-179 Suite 9

Sedona, AZ Lobster Ceviche
