Sow and Grow Fest

Kick off the start of the fall season with a fun event that shows you all about seeding and planting, a perfect activity for the green thumb in your family. We are of course talking about the Sow and Grow Fest that will take place on September 14th. This local event is a great opportunity to participate in lively gardening demonstrations and peruse local vendors with plenty of gardening items for sale. Local musicians Laura Blackley and Ashley Chambliss will be providing live entertainment and there will be plenty of family friendly activities. The event is free to get into; however, there is a $20 potluck ticket that will help support the Organic Growers School’s Grow for Good Fund to assist farmer training programs and mentorships. This year’s Sow and Grow Fest will take place from 1:00 – 5:00 PM on September 14th.

River Arts District Second Saturday Art Stroll

Many cities have their own version of a monthly art walk that brings together local artists and a variety of activities. Asheville has its own version with the River Arts District Second Saturday Art Stroll. On the second Saturday of each month in the fall you can see over 300 artists set up in historic warehouses in the arts district. Fall dates will include September 14th, October 12th, and November 9th with the event typically running from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Explore the different artists’ creations and shop their wares just in time before the holiday season kicks off in the winter. Downtown trollies offer free transportation from noon to 6:00 PM on these Saturdays making it easy to get around Downtown. Hola Asheville

Asheville may be found closer to the East Coast, but you will still see the wonders of Latin American when you attend Hola Asheville this fall. This exclusive event is a single celebration of Latin American at Pack Square Park. The event is set up for you to stroll through the park and experience 20 represented countries from Latin America. Stop by each “country” to check out their music, art, culture, food, and much more. Colorful costumes and wonderful live music bring the event to life and is free to attend. Experience a corn maze in Asheville, NC

Eliada Fall Festival and Corn Maze

One of the best parts of the fall season here around Asheville is the local farms getting in on the exciting fall events. Eliada Fall Festival and Corn Maze is back on weekends from September 20th through October 27th. Every Friday through Sunday you can enjoy local activities such as hayrides, lawn games, spider climber, corn cannons, and the custom corn maze that is always the biggest draw of the event. Local food trucks will be on hand to serve you delicious food each day. Admission into the festival is $15 per person and directly benefits the children over at Eliada.

Blue Ride Pride Festival

Join the citizens of Asheville to celebrate inclusion with the annual Blue Ridge Pride Festival taking place this September. This all-day event will feature education, entertainment, art, and much more to showcase love in all forms. The event will kick off with the Welcome Parade that will lead to Pack Square Park at 9:30 AM. Following the parade stick around the event for a full day of live music, local food trucks, and local vendors. The Blue Ridge Pride Festival takes place on September 21st in Downtown Asheville.

Oktoberfest Half Marathon & 5K

Before you enjoy some beer, head over to the 2nd Annual Oktoberfest Half Marathon & 5K. This new addition to the fall event line up has you running through the beautiful River Arts District and encourages fun costumes. Come race with us on September 28th and enjoy a complimentary post-race beer!
