For many travelers, visiting someplace more than once can be a waste of precious vacation time, simply because you have already seen everything there is to see, but visiting New York City is a completely different experience. Offering something new and wonderful with each month that passes, you could visit a dozen times and have a dozen different vacation experiences, with the only thing staying the same is the comfort, style, and luxury found in our Mighty Tree Properties NYC escapes. This 2025 New York City travel guide will show you how things have changed, how your favorite activities may have stayed the same, and why our “town” gives really excellent vacation!
On Broadway
Everyone has a bucket list of things they want to see and do during their NYC vacations, and more often than not at the top of that list is a Broadway show. If you have visited frequently, you’ve probably seen the ongoing shows, the ones that linger in the limelight for year after year, and you may even have a favorite you would like to see again, but the shows listed below are the new ones coming to the stage in 2025.
Othello at the Ethel Barrymore Theater, February 24th Through June 8th
We are of the firm opinion that Shakespeare should always be on stage somewhere, and we can’t tell you how excited we are that Othello is making its limited appearance on Broadway in 2025. We’re even more excited to announce that Hollywood superstars Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal star in this wonderful play that tells the tale of jealousy and mistrust. This is the first time in 40 years that this particular Shakespeare play has been performed on Broadway and tickets will probably go for a premium if any can still be purchased.

Good Night and Good Luck at the Winter Garden Theater, March 12th Through June 8th
Adapted from the 2005 film of the same name, visitors are going to be excited to hear that George Clooney is making his Broadway debut, playing Edward R. Murrow on the stage, even as he played Murrow’s colleague in the film. Telling the story of the revered journalist, we can’t wait to get our tickets, and we suggest you order yours before you arrive to ensure you don’t miss out, should the show become sold out.
Dead Outlaw, Longacre Theater, Midtown West, April 12th Through December 31st
This quirky play doesn’t have a celebrity lead, nor is it a recreation of an earlier film or stage show, but we think it has the potential to be a show you will love. It does, however, tell the story of outlaw Elmer McCurdy, who was killed in a shootout with police and whose mummified body toured the US as a sideshow act for decades. It’s quirky because it is real, and although we think it will be a success, you may be able to get tickets relatively easily in the early days of its showing.
Our New York City Travel Guide to Epicurean Adventures
The culinary landscape of NYC is one of the most exciting ones in the world, and with new restaurants appearing on the horizon every month, even New Yorkers who live here full time never manage to sample them all. Some of the newest ones that are making a big splash in these opening months of 2025 are listed below.

Coffee & Caviar, 71 Worth Street, Tribeca
Sharing the space with Farra Wine Bar, Coffee & Caviar is open daily from 8 or 8:30 AM until 2 PM, and then Farra takes over each night. This brand new space is the brainchild of a local caviar wholesale distributor, Daysha Smyslov, who tells the story of how her family started every day with caviar when they lived in Russia, and she hopes to bring that tradition to the Big Apple.
Cactus Wren, 98 Rivington Street, Lower East Side
Offering a menu that serves Southwestern dishes prepared with a French flair, this fusion of France and America offers a tasty dining experience. Also tapping into the delicious seafoods of Cape Cod, visitors can expect traditional dishes that include lobster pot pie and caviar service or they can venture into the unusual and try a chicken liver mousse and onions pizza. It’s good we promise!
Gui Steakhouse, 776 8th Avenue, Midtown West
A good steak is always going to be a celebratory meal, and this new steakhouse located in the heart of Midtown West is destined to offer a memorable meal. Featuring a menu that blends American steakhouse with Korean and Asian influences, of course there is also caviar on the menu, which we are mentioning because it seems to the theme of the new restaurants opening in February in New York City.

NYC Events in 2025
These events are ones that come back year after year, but we promise even if you have attended them before, each year brings new things that will capture your interest.
New York International Auto Show, April 18 through April 27, Jacob Javitz Convention Center
Most people in NYC will never drive anywhere, but that doesn’t stop us from being entirely fascinated at the new vehicles shown at the New York International Auto Show. See tomorrow’s vehicles today and start dreaming about the ones that you can’t wait to park in your garage with a visit to this weeklong festival. Rumor has it that the first flying cars are scheduled to be sold in 2025, but we don’t know for sure if any will be shown. It’s still worth attending on the off chance the rumor is true, don’t you think?
Harlem Week 50, August 3rd through August 18th, Harlem
2025 is a very special year, as Harlem is celebrating its 50th year, something that no one ever expected to happen way back when the first Harlem DAY (yes, it only lasted a day back then!) occurred. This year, Harlem Week will actually last two weeks and will offer food, music, drink, and so many more activities, we just can’t list them all on one page!

New York Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2026, September 11th through September 16th
If you have ever watched Sex and the City or are currently watching the reboot “And Just Like That,” you will recognize the excitement that takes over the city during either of the fashion weeks. The Fall/Winter Fashion Week just concluded February 11th, but it isn’t too late to start making plans for the Spring/Summer 2026 Fashion Week, perhaps seeing some of your favorite superstars in the audiences or on the streets, and if you are a fan, chances are you will run into Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda at some point during your visit!
Shop ‘til You Drop
You can’t go on vacation without doing some shopping, especially if your vacation brings you to the city that never sleeps, and the stores listed below are some of the newest ones that are entering the market.
Climax Books, 56 E 4th Street
Amazon hasn’t completely erased the brick-and-mortar bookshops from the landscape, and Climax Books is a great example, opening to much acclaim as it offers a variety of hard to find magazines, books on erotica, and even VHS tapes, because as we know from our vintage shop experiences, everything old is new again.

Other People’s Clothes, 333 Troutman Street in Brooklyn & 885 Woodward Avenue in Queens
Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle are hot words in today’s shopping market, and although the prices can be pretty high at Other People’s Clothes, they sell vintage designer clothing that you may have only seen in the movies. Even better, they offer an online shop, so when you fall in love with the clothing and accessories you find in this chic shop, and you will, you can continue to shop from home even if your home is thousands of miles away!
Chelsea Flea, 29 W 25th Street
Chelsea Flea offers a New York City experience that may outshine all others, offering vintage everything and the opportunity to take back a piece of New York with you when you return to real life. Open year-round on weekends, this is a great spot to purchase authentic souvenirs that are completely opposite the standard I Heart NY tees, mugs, and magnets you can purchase in bulk in almost any other shop in the city.
New Attractions in 2025
This New York City travel guide is geared towards return visitors or guests who love to see new things, and so we will mostly avoid the typical New York tourist attractions, including the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, and the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art. Of course, you will want to visit all of those on your first visit, with or without any input from Mighty Tree Properties. The attractions listed below may be new to the city or off the beaten path adventures that you may never have heard of, and we think they will make this trip a fulfilling one!

Midtown NYC Walking Tour with the Empire State Building
This is the one exception to our above rule of avoiding the standard landmarks, as a ticket to the Empire State Building is included with the walk. It is, however, a new service that just began this year, offering tourists the opportunity to see New York City with an authentic New Yorker as their guide. You will walk the streets of NYC, passing by some of our most famous attractions and hearing the stories that the streets want told, and as you learn about the places you only imagined visiting, you can also ask your guide for tips on popular night spots, new restaurants, and where you can find the best coffee in the city.
Mercer Labs, 21 Dey Street
Mercer Labs Museum of Art and Technology is a relatively new museum in NYC, opening in 2024, and it is unlike any museum you have ever experienced before. Offering 15 experimental exhibition spaces and interactive experiences, it explores the relationship between art and technology in new ways that will simply blow your mind. Also offering an after-hours exhibition called After Dark that explores art, technology, light, and sound, this experience is already a popular one; it is advised that tickets should be bought in advance of your arrival in the Big Apple.
Luna, Luna: Forgotten Fantasy at the Shed, 545 W 30th Street
This next attraction will end March 16th, so it may not be one that you get to enjoy if your trip doesn’t take place in the next couple of weeks, but if you are here during that time and you can get a ticket, this needs not to be missed. Luna, Luna: Forgotten Fantasy is held at the Shed, a local art center, and is the world’s first art amusement park, one that was created in 1987 in Germany and then locked away and forgotten until it was recently rediscovered, reimagined, and reopened right here in New York City.
Come Home to Mighty Tree NYC

We all have that list of attractions or landmarks that we want to see on vacation to different places; the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre in Paris, the Hollywood sign in California, and Disney World in Florida are just examples. But if this is your first trip to Sedona, do you know enough about our Southwestern town to really know all there is to see, and if you don’t, wouldn’t it be a shame to miss out on something spectacular? Fortunately, you have chosen Mighty Tree Properties for your Sedona vacation sanctuary, and we don’t stop at providing luxury and comfort for tired travelers. It makes us happy to share all that makes our red rock town unique and this ultimate first-time visitor guide to Sedona, Arizona will help you see everything that makes us special!
The Iconic Red Rock Formations
Of course, we have to start with the one thing you are sure to have heard of, perhaps even seen on television or in the movies, and that is those red rock formations that add a layer of magic to the Sedona landscape. The scientific reasoning behind their famous color brings up rust and ancient seawater, but do you really care how they were formed? Their beauty, their shapes that often resemble other more mundane objects, and their appearance all over the landscape makes the red rocks one of the top tourist attractions, with the ones listed below being ones you simply can’t miss if you want your visit to Sedona to be a successful one.
Bell Rock
Every postcard, every dramatic sunset scene in old Western movies always features Bell Rock in the background as it is going to be the first formation you encounter on your initial drive into Sedona. As like all the other formations, its name came about from its resemblance to a giant red bell and as you follow the road that leads you to your Mighty Tree Properties retreat, you will see a few spots where you can take a break from your driving, pull over and take the first of many exciting photographs. The Bell Rock Pathway via Bell Rock Access Trail is the simplest hiking path to take to reach this structure.
Cathedral Rock
We’re not going to insult your intelligence by continuing to explain why the formations we suggest you see are named as they are, so skipping to the fun stuff, Cathedral Rock is next on our list of shouldn’t miss formations during your first time visit to paradise. As popular as Bell Rock is, it is Cathedral Rock that has earned the distinction of being the most photographed formation in Sedona and its impressive church like spires will shine bright, especially when photographed at sunset. The Cathedral Rock trail is the best trail for hiking, but it does have an elevation gain of 741 feet, so be prepared for a climb.
Devil’s Bridge
This last formation is a trail that leads to a sandstone arch named the Devil’s Bridge, where some of the most panoramic views of red rock country can be explored. Walk across the top of the bridge and take photos that, as lovely as they will be, will never truly match the shining beauty of the area but will serve as a reminder of the mystical adventures you enjoyed during your Arizona vacation. The Devil’s Bridge Trail is an easy one, and if heights aren’t your thing, the pictures taken from beneath the red sandstone arch will be equally memorable!
Tours of Sedona
Since your Sedona journey is not an open ended one, you may have a struggle determining which sites you should explore in more depth and which ones a passing glimpse will be enough for you to say, “Been there, done that.” When faced with a conundrum of this type we suggest taking a tour of the area, one that will give you a great overall exploration, take up a few hours of a single day, and let you decide which attractions you want to examine closer. Additionally, the tours listed below are going to explore not just Sedona, but a couple of its surrounding towns, giving you a more complete picture of the entire area.
Pink Jeep Tours, 204 N State Road 89A
As you pull into town, if you can take your eyes off the red rocks long enough to look around you, the appearance of multicolored jeeps filled with happy people will suddenly become apparent. These jeeps lead tours out into red rock country, exploring the formations, the vortexes (something we will be discussing next) and the history of the area. There are many different jeep tour companies out there, but Pink Jeep Tours was the first and will always be the one that represents the unusual vibe of Sedona area. Offering a variety of tours that last anywhere from 1.5 hours to 11 hours (the longer tours might be best for a return visit), guests will come away from this adventure really feeling as if they have truly seen Sedona.
Horsin’ Around Adventures, 2650 Dancing Apache Road in Cornville
First of all, you will see this adventure doesn’t take place in Sedona but in the nearby town of Cornville, and that’s ok. This entire area deserves to be explored and a tour by horseback seems only natural while you are in what was formally the wild west! Horsin’ Around Adventures takes riders on a tour of the Verde Valley countryside, exploring the natural beauty of this area while examining its history a little closer and introducing you to the beauty of the four-legged steeds that chauffeur you along the trail.
Verde Canyon Railroad, 300 N Broadway in Clarkdale
This last tour takes guests on a renovated train from days long past, riding the rails through some of the most stunning landscape in the state. The Verde Canyon Railroad, once an actual means of transportation for miners and their families, believes in the old phrase, Adapt, Migrate, or—well, you probably already know the ending to that saying! In any case, today, the Verde Canyon Railroad takes guests on tours of the countryside, while also offering themed rides during the holidays including a Chocolate Lover’s Festival in February, the Easter Bunny Express, and the Magical Christmas Journey. Also offering wine, beer, and summer starlight rides, you really would be missing something magical if you didn’t pencil a ride on the Verde Canyon Railroad into your vacation schedule.
The Mystical Side of Sedona
We are a very spiritual and mystical town and can perhaps even change the way you see the world, when you visit the destinations listed below.
Energy Vortexes
An energy vortex is a place where Earth’s energy is believed to be “amplified and concentrated” and Sedona is known to have seven of these energy-filled spots, with five of the vortexes being amongst the most powerful in the world. These spots offer a spiritual connection and are often used for meditation and self-discovery, with Bell Rock (yes, that red rock formation we first talked about) offering a strong masculine energy that can enhance self-confidence and strength. Cathedral Rock is known for its female energy, bringing visitors emotional healing and enhancing their compassion. When you seek a more balanced energy, however, the Airport Mesa Vortex is thought to offer both masculine and female energy, offering clarity and a sense of centeredness as its gift to visitors.
Chapel of the Holy Cross, 780 Chapel Road
Chapel of the Holy Cross is a Roman Catholic chapel built into the red rocks and offering the more typical type of spirituality you expect out of life. Still active, everyone is invited to step inside and explore their own spirituality while losing their ability to speak over the views visible through a wall of windows at the back of the church. Offering a gift shop inside and a short hiking trail that also leads you to another powerful vortex, the Chapel of the Holy Cross Vortex promoting a tranquil and sacred energy that leaves visitors feeling peaceful and connected. No matter what your beliefs may be, a visit to the chapel is one that all first time visitors should experience.
Sedona Crystal Vortex, 270 N State Route 89A and Various Other Locations
Shopping for souvenirs is always a popular vacation activity, and you will experience many opportunities to do so during your Sedona visit, but this specific shop offers a metaphysical experience that fits into our topic, so we are separating it from the pack. Sedona Crystal Vortex offers wares that will help you find clarity, creativity, even success in your chosen career, simply by picking the right crystal. Offering psychic readings, either in person or virtually, and a massive selection of crystals that are raw, polished, formed, mounted, sliced, or made into trees, this special store also offers an online shop that will allow you to continue your crystal education when you return home to real life.
Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village, 336 AZ-179
You can’t go far in Sedona without coming across a cute shop, boutique, or art gallery, and we highly recommend you visit them all, but if you don’t visit Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village, you will be missing out on an iconic Sedona experience. This walled in community of shops, galleries, and restaurants looks as if it has been planted there for centuries, but in reality, it was built in the 1970s and has become one of the areas most beloved shopping spots. At Christmas, their Festival of Lights, created with 6000 luminarias brightens the night and a visit to their Feliz Navidad store celebrates Christmas every day of the year. The galleries located within the walls represent the best of our local artists, Sedona has always been considered an artist’s colony of sorts, and Rene at Tlaquepaque is one of our favorite fine dining experiences.
Epicurean Adventures
You can’t explore Sedona without enjoying epicurean adventures, and the restaurants of our red rock town never fail to disappoint.
The Coffeepot Restaurant, 2050 State Route 89A
Start your day with an omelette at The Coffeepot Restaurant, resting in the shadow of Coffee Pot Rock and offering a menu, that among other meal items, offers over 100 omelette options and a comfortable diner type experience.
Cowboy Club Grille & Spirits, 241 N State Route 89A
Lunch at the Cowboy Club Grille & Spirits, 241 N State Route 89A, will give you an authentic Sedona experience, offering exotic and filling delights such as rattlesnake sausage and Bison Ribeye. The Cowboy Club has served the Sedona area for decades and was once a popular restaurant for the stars who were in town filming westerns during our golden age of filmmaking years.
Elote Café, 350 Jordan Road
Although Elote Café hasn’t been around anywhere near as long as Coffeepot Restaurant or Cowboy Club, it has come to represent the spirit of Sedona quite nicely in the nearly 20 years it has been in existence. Owned and operated by local celeb chef, Jeff Smedstad, the menu of his Mexican restaurant has been developed over years of travel South of the border. Offering an upscale dining experience and we can promise that every bite will bring an explosion of flavor that will haunt your dreams in the best of ways for years to come.

A Different Way of Looking at the World
Sedona is known for its unique qualities, including its red rock landscape, its vortexes, and its reputation as a spiritual mecca, and your explorations of its borders will open your eyes to all the possibilities, even as you participate in what some might consider the most mundane of activities, shopping. You will soon see that the streets are lined with shops, galleries, and boutiques, each offering something extra, something that you never knew you needed until it rested in your hand. The shops listed below are just a sample of the wonderful businesses you will discover during your 2025 escape to Arizona.
Salt/Pine, 60 W Cortez Drive
Salt/Pine is one of the newest shops in Sedona, offering a peek into our metaphysicality by offering a beautiful selection of crystals, books, candles, jewelry, and handmade and all-natural body care products. Simple décor lets the products shine and knowledgeable and personal staff will introduce you to this way of thinking and believing, creating a shopping experience as memorable as your Sedona vacation.
Merry Christmas Sedona, 273 N State Route 89A Unit P
Every day is Christmas at Merry Christmas Sedona, a shop selling holiday décor that you really won’t want to live without. Inspired by the desert that surrounds us, this shop offers handmade ornaments that will serve as a reminder of the vacation you never want to forget. Many travelers have started collecting ornaments from all the places they have visited, enjoying the memories they bring to the surface when trimming their trees and this activity could be the start of a new tradition for you and your family.
Zonies Galleria, 215 AZ-89A
The art of the Southwest differs from that of other places, offering both more color and often simpler design and the pieces found at Zonies Galleria are a stunning representation of those differences. Offering blown glass chandeliers, copper suns, pottery spun on a wheel and colored in rich classical colors, everywhere you turn there is a new piece that will demand you look at it, touch it, own it and if you can leave the store without that metal lithograph of an Arizona sunset or a stained glass depiction of a roadrunner in motion, you are made of sterner stuff than we are.
The Energy Is Different Here
Whether this is your first time visiting or your 100th adventure in our red rock town, a visit to the Vortexes of Sedona is sure to be at the top of your vacation bucket list. There are seven in the area, more than in any other one location, with the Airport Mesa Vortex being one of the most visited and Rachel’s Knoll Vortex located on what is considered sacred land that was used by the Native Americans for centuries. Rachel’s Knoll Vortex is also located on the property of Seven Canyons Golf Course and if the mood to hit a few balls arises, you can’t find a better place to do so. Cathedral Rock vortex is considered to be the most powerful of the seven vortexes, offering a strong feminine energy that leaves visitors feeling peaceful and emotionally balanced after their visit. Whichever vortex you choose to visit, they are sites of healing, self-discovery, and spiritual connection, changing the way you look at the world forevermore.
Exciting Events
The best way to get to know a place is by participating in the events that take place in each town and Sedona is known throughout the state, even throughout the nation, for offering a series of events that add excitement and wonder to everyone who attends. There is something going on nearly every month of the year, but the ones listed below are some of our absolute favorites.
Sedona International Film Festival & Workshop, Various Venues in Sedona
The Sedona International Film Festival & Workshop is a nine-day event that begins the last week of February, trailing into March. Offering a celebration of independent films from around the world, including documentaries, short films, animation, and foreign films, this festival is every movie lover’s dream. Also offering virtual tickets, if you attend this year and discover how much you love it, you can continue to attend from the comfort of your own home from here on out. Spring Open Studios, Various Venues, April

Over 50 artists open their private studios to visitors, and as you meet the artists, examine their work, you will also be entered in a gallery wide raffle for a chance to win a $250 gift certificate to use at any of the participating galleries.
Sedona Winefest, Posse Grounds Park
Arizona has become a top winemaking region, much to the surprise of many visitors, and the Sedona Winefest, a tradition for 15 years, offers the perfect way to explore our Arizona wines. Held the last weekend in September, the event starts with a kickoff party, offering tasting stations, an appetizer station for pairing, commemorative Sedona Winefest glass, raffle tickets, and so much more. The remainder of the event will include more tastings from over 25 wineries and some tastings from distilleries and breweries as well, live entertainment, food and artisan vendors, and more fun than should be legally allowed.

Featuring a large selection of food trucks all bringing something different and delectable to the event, guests can eat their way around the world and remember to save room for dessert!
Take It Outside
The landscape of Sedona is one of the most beautiful in the world, and our naturally wonderful weather ensures that you will want to spend as much time as possible outside, enjoying all nature has to offer. There are 278 days of sunshine in Sedona, and although there are some warm months in the summer, most days will be absolutely perfect in temperature and vibe. There is a lot you can do outside during your adventures here, including some of the activities listed below.
Horsin’ Around Adventures, 2650 Dancing Apache Road in Cornville
You’re in the Wild West, so it only makes sense that one of your first adventures should take place on the back of a gentle steed, and Horsin’ Around Adventures offers one of our favorite ways to explore the Verde Valley countryside. They are located in nearby Cornville and offer trail rides that lead visitors through a canyon that provides views of vineyards, mountains, and historical spots that will make an impact on your soul. Each ride lasts about 1.5 hours and can be a group one with as many as 15 riders trailing along and private tours that also include a “swing by” of some native wildlife’s natural habitats. Reservations are made by phone only at 800-403-1690.
Sedona Stargazing Tours, 928-203-0006
The International Dark Sky Association (IDA) has made it its mission to bring back the stars, and if you are wondering what that means, we are excited to tell you. Remember when you were a child and could lay on your back in the grass of your backyard, staring up at the stars, and falling asleep before you could count them all? Hoping to see a shooting star and making a wish upon that star was your biggest dream and surprisingly, it happened quite frequently. But light pollution soon took away the magic of a sky filled with stars, and IDA was born, helping communities to bring back the stars. Sedona is a dark sky community, fighting against light pollution and the skies are once again filled with stars, something you will be able to enjoy when you participate in a stargazing tour. Learn about the skies, the stars, the planets, and galaxies that make up the last frontier and if you can share the experience with your favorite traveling companion, all the better.

Of course, we are talking about our portal here at Might Tree Properties where you can find rentals in New York City, Asheville, and more. All of these vacation rentals are located on a single platform and offer all the features you need for a confident booking. You can still book quick and easy from the source when booking direct.

Detail Listings with All the Features
Third-party services will pull listing information from our own platform onto their website for you to book. When this occurs, you may not find all of the in-depth information we include about our rentals in our platform. Skip out on the middle man and instead explore each property that we offer all right here on our website. You will find individual features and amenities included with each property. We understand that no two families are the same and may require different features. This can also include having access to special accommodations for those in need. Our team will make it easy for you to find the perfect vacation rental for you and your family. You will not find this level of detail on any third-party service.
Avoid Additional Booking Fees
Another benefit of booking direct is by booking our vacation rentals at their best price. When you confirm the details of your stay you will find the appropriate cost listed out for you. Third-party services look to profit off of your booking and typically does so with an additional booking fee that is a percentage of your reservation. No one wants to pay even more for their stay. Skip out on these unnecessary fees by booking direct. You will feel confident knowing you paid the best price whenever you book directly with our platform.

Third-party services are not typically able to make quick changes since they are the middleman to the reservation. In fact, we are typically unable to make changes for you when booked with a third-party service because they are the ones who placed the reservation for you. You can make it as easy as possible by booking your vacation rental directly from us.
Team on Standby
As you can see, part of the benefits of booking directly with us is having our team available to assist you. We offer a knowledgeable team who understands our properties and homeowners. You can reach out with questions regarding your reservation, when needing help to find the perfect property for you, and even for things to do in the areas of our vacation rentals. If you have been wanting to treat your family to an unbelievable vacation getaway, consider making your way to New York City. 2025 is just around the corner and makes for the perfect time to start planning ahead. It is always important to budget ahead for any trip, especially when costs for everything continue to rise year after year. Take a look at the best ways to budget for your trip to New York City in 2025:
Consider the Off-Season
If you are looking to visit New York City right after the start of the year, you may be able to plan for the off season. Any destination you visit is going to have an off season during the year. This is a time when local events and activities are not in season resulting in the area seeing less traffic. Just because an area is not as busy during the off season does not mean you should avoid that time of year. In fact, New York City has plenty to offer in any season. You will find our off season to be late winter and late spring each year. Many people enjoy coming to New York City for the holidays, so once they have passed, there will be less visitors in the area.
From January to February you can find a quieter New York City with lower costs all around. Prepare for a cold time, as New York City sees low temps and snow during these months. This is perfect for those who want to experience snow not typically found back home. Just make sure you have packed for the weather. Late March to late April is another great time to visit. The weather will be warming up yet the crowds of summer have yet to arrive. You can experience the city like a local without having to fight through crowds of people. Many activities such as stage productions will be at a lower cost than our peak season for the year. Visiting in an off season is a great way to make your budget go further.

Explore New York City During Peak Season
Budgeting in advance means you can still visit during our busier months of the year. The summer, fall, and early winter seasons tends to be our busiest times of the year. The summer months are great for those with kids on summer breaks. However, the fall season is a wonderful time to visit when the temps start to drop and the fall foliage comes out with vibrant colors. Visiting in the busier times of the year on a budget is still achievable if you know how to plan in advance. Check out local attractions that are free such as Central Park. You can easily spend countless hours here in the park, especially if you visit the northern sections that are typically less traveled. Local events and shows offer tickets well in advance. Purchase your tickets before your trip so you can prevent purchasing resell tickets or fight higher costs. You will find food cuisines of all types along with a variety of costs.
Travel to New York City
When it comes to visiting New York City, most individuals tend to fly into the city. It is one of the biggest cities in the world and is easy to travel by foot for the entire stay. The most convenient airports nearby New York City include JFK International Airport and LaGuardia Airport. Many visitors tend to find LaGuardia to be the easiest airport to fly into since you will arrive in Queens. Getting to your vacation rental from the airport can be as easy as catching the train. Finding public transportation such as the train or subway is a great way to budget for your trip. Additionally, taking a taxi or ride share will have you stuck in traffic at some point in your journey. If you live on the East Coast, you can also drive to New York City. Driving is always a much cheaper option, especially when there are several individuals in your family. Finding parking may be your only challenge with this transportation method. If you are lucky to secure street parking, then you will save the most; parking garages are also available with the option to park for several days.

Why Visit Asheville?
Asheville is often described as a hidden gem, offering the charm of a small town with the energy of a larger city. The scenic beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains is a huge draw for outdoor lovers, with endless opportunities for hiking, biking, and exploring the great outdoors. But the city’s arts scene, craft beer culture, and culinary diversity make it equally attractive to those who prefer cultural exploration over physical activity.
One of the most unique aspects of Asheville is its eclectic and creative atmosphere. The city is home to a vibrant arts community that includes painters, musicians, writers, and performers who draw inspiration from the surrounding landscape. The blend of mountain beauty and creative energy gives Asheville its distinctive vibe—laid-back, yet full of life. Whether you’re wandering through the downtown area, browsing local galleries, or sampling handmade goods at artisan markets, Asheville has a way of making visitors feel both energized and at ease.
The Best Time to Visit Asheville
When planning your trip to Asheville, the weather is an important consideration, as the city’s four distinct seasons each offer different experiences. While Asheville is a year-round destination, the best time to visit depends largely on what kind of experience you’re looking for.
Spring in Asheville is a lovely time to visit if you enjoy mild temperatures and an explosion of color. With average highs in the 60s and 70s°F, it’s ideal for outdoor activities like hiking or leisurely walks through the city’s parks and green spaces. The region’s flowers and trees begin to bloom, and the city is awash in vibrant hues, making it a perfect time for nature lovers and photographers. You’ll also find that the crowds are smaller in the spring, making it an excellent time to explore without the summer rush.
Summer brings warm temperatures, with highs in the 80s°F. However, due to Asheville’s higher elevation, the heat is generally more bearable than in lower-lying areas. Summer is the peak tourist season, meaning the city will be bustling with visitors. This can be a great time to experience Asheville’s lively outdoor festivals, farmers’ markets, and music events, but keep in mind that accommodation rates may be higher, and popular spots may be crowded. If you prefer a more relaxed experience, consider booking a stay for the shoulder seasons (spring or fall).
Fall is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular times to visit Asheville. As the leaves change color, the surrounding mountainsides transform into a breathtaking canvas of red, orange, and gold. This season attracts a large number of visitors, but it’s still manageable, and the cooler weather makes hiking, biking, and outdoor exploration ideal. Temperatures in the fall typically range from the mid-50s to mid-70s°F, and with fewer bugs and humidity, it’s the perfect season for those looking to enjoy the outdoors.
Winter is quieter, with the city and surrounding mountains dusted in a light snowfall on occasion. Daytime temperatures tend to hover in the 40s and 50s°F, making it a mild winter destination compared to other mountain areas. While snow is rare in the city itself, you can find opportunities for winter sports and snow activities in the nearby mountains. If you prefer peace and quiet, winter in Asheville offers an opportunity to explore the city without the crowds. Plus, you’ll find lower accommodation rates, especially in early winter before the holiday season.

What to Pack for Asheville
When packing for your trip to Asheville, it’s important to keep in mind that the weather can vary greatly depending on the time of year. In general, Asheville’s temperatures are moderate, but because the city is located in the mountains, you’ll want to be prepared for changes in weather, especially if you plan to spend time outdoors.
During the warmer months, lightweight, breathable clothing is ideal, as temperatures can reach into the 80s and sometimes higher. If you plan to hike or explore the great outdoors, be sure to bring comfortable, durable shoes for walking. Even in the summer, evenings can be cool, so it’s a good idea to pack a light jacket or sweater. During the fall and spring, layers are key. A mix of short-sleeve shirts and long-sleeve options, along with a jacket, will keep you comfortable as temperatures fluctuate.
Winter visitors should prepare for cooler temperatures, with a coat, gloves, and scarves being essential for exploring the city in comfort. If you plan to visit higher elevations or partake in any outdoor winter activities, pack extra layers to ensure you stay warm.
In addition to clothing, be sure to pack sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses, especially if you plan to spend time outdoors. Asheville’s mountain scenery and outdoor activities make it easy to stay active and enjoy the natural surroundings, so having the right gear on hand will ensure that you make the most of your trip. Enjoy the Incredible Weather
The weather in Asheville, North Carolina, is one of the many reasons why it’s such a popular destination year-round. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville enjoys a temperate climate that offers four distinct seasons, each with its own unique charm. Summers in Asheville are warm but not oppressive, with daytime highs typically in the mid-80s to low 90s°F, cooled by the higher elevation and occasional mountain breezes. The lower humidity compared to other parts of the Southeast makes the summer heat much more manageable, and evenings tend to be pleasantly cooler, perfect for enjoying outdoor activities or dining al fresco.
Fall in Asheville is nothing short of spectacular. As the leaves change color, the mountainsides are painted with rich hues of orange, red, and yellow, making it a prime time for outdoor exploration. Temperatures in the fall are crisp and comfortable, usually ranging from the mid-50s to low 70s°F during the day, with chilly nights that often dip into the 30s and 40s. It’s the perfect season for hiking, scenic drives, and cozying up by a fire after a day of exploring.
Winter in Asheville brings a quiet serenity to the region. While snow is relatively rare in the city itself, the surrounding mountains can receive occasional snowfalls, providing a winter wonderland for those who enjoy the colder months. Daytime temperatures generally range from the mid-30s to low 50s°F, with nighttime lows often dropping below freezing. Despite the chill, the clear, crisp air and fewer crowds make winter a peaceful time to visit.
Spring is another fantastic time to visit Asheville, with mild temperatures and vibrant blooms throughout the city. Average highs in spring hover in the 60s and 70s, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking or simply exploring the town. The weather is generally sunny, though occasional rain showers bring the region’s lush greenery to life. With comfortable temperatures and plenty of sunshine, spring in Asheville is perfect for those looking to experience the natural beauty of the area in full bloom.
