Drum Circle Downtown Asheville

Kick off your Memorial Day Weekend with a classic tradition right here in Downtown Asheville. During the months of April through October Pritchard Park in Downtown Asheville will be host to a variety of drummers who create a huge circle. Around 6:00 PM dozens of drummers will play along to a thunderous rhythm that will encourage everyone to dance until their hearts are content. This is an amazing local collaboration that is free to attend and will have you feeling like you fit right in here in Asheville. Nothing is better than feeling the music and moving your feet to kick start your holiday weekend. The drum circle continues until approximately 10:00 PM and there is sure to be a big crowd ready to dance the evening away.

Part of the joy of going on vacation is the chance to unwind and relax. The adults can easily do that with the numerous craft breweries found right here in Asheville. Each location offers something that sets them apart from all the rest but still specialize in hand crafted ales. Each year, the AVL Beer Week returns for a celebration of the incredible craft beer industry here in the area. This year’s AVL Beer Week 2025 will be much more than a celebration but also a reminder of the resiliency of the community after last year’s events. Each ticket sold will contribute to the revitalization of the area’s craft beer community. You can expect all of the previous favorite activities here at AVL Beer Week including the huge beer tasting events, pairing dinners, and panel discussions with brewers here from Asheville.

The fun kicks off on May 17th with the For The Love of Craft – A WNC Arts, Craft Beverage, and Craft Mac & Cheese Festival. As the name suggests this exciting event will bring together craft beers, arts and crafts, and tasty mac and cheese all to one incredible location. Battery Park Hall will host the event where you can enjoy the incredible architecture along with the tasty food and drinks. This all ages event is perfect for everyone in the family from kids wanting to try out decadent craft mac and cheese bowls to the adults trying out new craft beer from the area. You will also be able to discover the local talent of Western North Carolina’s artists who will be on hand creating pottery, paintings, and much more. This event will run from noon to 8:00 PM for an all day festival!

Leading directly into the Memorial Day Weekend will be the Beer City 20K Relay that is a great way to work up to your beer. This relay will be an exciting race sponsored by New Belgium Brewing – Asheville. Bring a team of four, have two split the race, or simply run all 20K on your own! You will have the river side be your beautiful backdrop as you run through Asheville. The race kicks off at 9:00 AM on May 24th.

AVL Beer Week ends with the Community Concert on May 29th with a free show performed by Steep Canyon Rangers, a local bluegrass and Americana group. The event will take place over at Pack Square Park with all invited to attend. Purchase a Preferred Access Ticket for a premium experience and for additional proceeds to benefit the community.
